Zion & Bryce Canyon National Parks - Thursday, 11 Dec

The entrance to Zion NP was about 1 mile from our motel.

After a quick stop to the visitors center, we all decided to do a walk up to the start of the Narrows, the place where the Virgin river becomes really narrow.

Where the paved trail ends. But not for these lovebirds! ;-)

Some more beautiful rocks

Zion NP in all its glory
From Zion we had a short drive to Bryce Canyon NP - this was the route:

On the road between Zion & Bryce

Bison Boys. You can just tell that these guys will have blue bulls for breakfast any day of the week and twice on Sundays . . .

I was fortunate to have visted Bryce before, but forgot how beautiful a place it is. These rock formations are formed due to a specific type of erosion - you can read more about it here.

Like I said, one can't stop looking at the formations. We did not have enough time to walk down into the canyon, something I guess that will have to wait for the next visit.

Brenda did manage a few yards into the canyon

This photo looks as if Brenda is photo-shopped in! (She was very close to the edge, though)

How beautiful is that!

Some bokkie I checked out in Bryce
