Road Trip, Day 9 - Tue 18 Nov: Kamloops, BC to overnight in Whistler, BC

The dramatic drive from Kamloops to Whistler was something to behold ...

With rivers and lakes all round for starters ...

and surrounded by huge, towering mountains that hide the sun for months and perfectly silhouette the masses of fir trees.

Just happy the snow stayed away for this stretch of road ...

But a shame that we missed the snow in Whistler - the Village made famous by the 2010 Winter Olympics. Fortunately for us, the plan was never to ski in Whistler, but just to enjoy the ski Village life for a day, which we did.  We could only imagine how picture perfect it must be in when it snows!

After checking in at the Crystal Hotel into our room with no view ... we headed out for some "homemade" soup for lunch, followed by coffee at blenz, and sushi for dinner, where interestinly we bumped into mainly gap-year Ausies running the show mate!

These slopes most certainly haven't seen the last of us, that is for sure.  The place is magical, and apparently the skiing is top notch. We will just have to come and see for ourselves one day.
